  In the report, as a pilot unit of the whole army’s field fast food support, an airborne brigade recently conducted an airborne combat training. The concept of this training is "everyone is a cook and everyone is a combatant".

  Can cooks be combatants?

  Why should we carry out relevant reforms? In the cold weapon era, logistics support largely determines the outcome of the battle. And protecting the so-called "grain road" sometimes even takes up nearly half of the troops participating in the war. In fact, for a long time, our army’s wartime food security mainly used cooking equipment to process fresh raw materials to make hot food. When a formation with a small organizational system is ready for war, all kinds of rice, noodles, poultry and vegetables add up to a full car.

  In the early days of the military reform, the military newspaper disclosed the experiment of a brigade of the original 65 th Army on the reform of field fast food. In the article, the quartermaster of a battalion of the army said: "In the past, it took a lot of effort to make cooking, washing and cutting, and two or three people were simply too busy. Moreover, the water consumption is large, and it takes a lot of water to wash vegetables. " Then, the brigade explored a new model according to the idea of "finished product supply and actual combat guarantee", and achieved the results of reducing picnic time by 50%, water consumption by 40% and cooking personnel by 20%.   Without a cook, who will deliver the meal?

  Today’s pilot projects are bigger and more than those carried out at the beginning of the military reform in terms of reform strength and means.

  In the previous article, the leader of an airborne brigade said that in this pilot, they ate field food for seven days in a row, and three food security methods, such as "high-energy food carried by individuals, collective food at room temperature, and fast food in integration of defense and civilian technologies", ran through the whole process of airborne combat.

  Last summer, a joint military and civilian support exercise started at the foot of Huashan Mountain. What the officers and men did not expect was that when the road was destroyed by the "enemy", the hot food and fast food of local food companies carried the drones of logistics companies and "flew" to the front line of the battlefield. And this drone flying to the battlefield is a local drone requisitioned by the troops in wartime. At the same time, in most cases where the war situation permits, local logistics companies can load semi-finished non-staple food products in refrigerated express trucks and transport and distribute them to designated places quickly.

  What do soldiers who have no meals eat?

  In fact, the above-mentioned mode of transporting semi-finished products and finished fast food for the front line can not meet all battlefield situations. In the most extreme battlefield environment, if soldiers are alone and can’t get in touch with the rear support forces, what should our lone hero eat?

  In this case, the field individual rations that soldiers can carry and heat independently come in handy. Song Zhongping, a military commentator, told the reporter of Beiqing Daily that the research and development of field rations in China started late compared with foreign countries, but there are also more experiences to learn from. After entering the 21st century, our army has successively appeared 09, 13 and 17 self-heating rations for individual soldiers. Some of the classic recipes include beef with sauce, fried rice with bacon, shredded pork noodles with cabbage and so on. It is worth mentioning that in the research and development of the latest generation of individual rations, integration of defense and civilian technologies appeared frequently.

  In addition, for the 17-type individual self-heating food, the military newspaper once commented that the energy provided by the food is more sufficient, which meets the emergency response energy needs under different operational areas and environmental conditions; Most products can heat the food center temperature to about 65 degrees Celsius within 10 minutes, which is one third shorter than the existing products. Adopting new technology to improve the taste of food and introducing alpha rice production technology have solved the problems of rice retrogradation. Adopt new air conditioning technology to ensure that the noodles are moderate in hardness and not sticky.

  Who will guarantee the army crossing the border?

  In addition to wartime, the logistics support mode has also changed in the process of normal troop mobilization in peacetime.

  In 2018, officers and men of a certain unit of the 74 th Army participated in the training mission remotely, passing through Jiangxi and Anhui. In view of the "transit" of the army, Wuxi Joint Logistics Support Center coordinated the local grain departments, set up security service points in the high-speed service areas of Yichun and Lujiang in Jiangxi respectively, and implemented fast-food food security across regions. In the news screen, every soldier can receive freshly baked meals, fruits and mineral water, including marinated eggs, tofu, vegetables and ribs.

  In this regard, Wuxi Joint Logistics Support Center disclosed that it coordinated with the food departments of Jiangsu, Anhui, Shanghai and other five provinces and one city in East China to form a food security service network. Objectively, Wuxi Joint Logistics Support Center has realized the "dicing" support mode, and when troops "cross the border" logistics support, they must keep up.

  The reporter of Beiqing Daily noticed that in order to realize the "dicing" guarantee nationwide, the geographical location of relevant nodes is particularly important. After the military reform, our army adjusted and set up a joint logistics support force, and set up a joint logistics support base in Wuhan and five joint logistics support centers in Wuxi, Guilin, Xining, Shenyang and Zhengzhou.
