These companies lack a strong sales network, but they have their own inherent advantages, such as the best battery supply or more advanced software than their competitors.

In the overwhelming situation of new energy, many automobile manufacturers are exceeding their production targets and trying to achieve "harvest" with this trend. On December 13th, 2022, Geely Automobile officially announced to the public that its high-end electric vehicle sub-brand Kykrypton had submitted its IPO registration documents to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on December 7th, 2022, and planned to be listed in new york as early as the second quarter of 2023. At that time, the valuation of Krypton cars reached $9 billion. Therefore, after the substantial increase in sales in 2022, the valuation of Krypton did not increase significantly, which shows that under the influence of the potential global financial crisis, the US stock market with abundant funds is not optimistic.

As the first batch of new forces in China, Wei Xiaoli also chose American stocks as the main battlefield of her IPO before making a profit. From the establishment of the company to the IPO, the three companies took four years, six years and five years respectively. In contrast, it has only been two years since its establishment. Judging from the valuation, although Krypton’s performance is much better than that of Wei Xiaoli at that time, and there is strong support from traditional car giants like Geely, there is still a clear gap in market value. It turns out that it is difficult to make a profit by mass-producing electric vehicles. In terms of sales volume and company revenue, there is still a certain gap between Krypton and Wei Xiaoli. In 2022, Xpeng Motors, which has the lowest sales volume among Wei Xiaoli, has delivered more than 120,000 vehicles, and the vehicle matrix of the three car companies of Wei Xiaoli has been relatively complete. For a brand-new car company that has just been established, if it is not supported by Geely Automobile through its system capabilities, the loss will probably be even greater. But even so, whether it is the development and production of new models, brand promotion and sales channel construction, it needs to invest a lot of money, and these funds have begun to put obvious pressure on Geely Automobile listed in Hong Kong stocks. In the first half of 2021-2022, the net profit of Geely Automobile was 4.847 billion yuan and 1.552 billion yuan respectively, and the year-on-year decline rate of net profit reached 12.4% and 34.81% respectively. Such a sharp decline is not only related to Geely’s own performance, but also to the large amount of investment required for extremely krypton cars.

　

2 advantages and disadvantages of listing US stocks

Obviously, under the circumstances that the valuation is not high due to the poor environment, it is closely related to the situation of Krypton itself that it still seeks to be listed in the US stock market.

Before Krypton, the impact on science and technology innovation board’s listing was unsuccessful. At the earliest, Geely Automobile hoped to return to science and technology innovation board to raise enough funds for itself, but later science and technology innovation board did not open the door for Geely. Then Geely Automobile gave Krypton the quota to hit science and technology innovation board, but from the current situation, Krypton’s scientific and technological attributes have not been recognized by the regulatory authorities. As an industry with heavy capital and assets, the future sustainable development of Krypton still needs to continuously inject a large amount of funds, which may not be completed by Geely Automobile alone. By listing in US stocks with relatively higher valuation and better liquidity, you can naturally get greater returns than listing in Hong Kong stocks.

However, the potential political risks faced by going to the United States for listing are also factors that have to be considered. On the one hand, vehicle companies like Krypton need to deal with a lot of personal information, and if it involves autonomous driving, it will produce more surveying and mapping data. At this time, it is necessary to find a method acceptable to both regulators under the two major judicial systems of China and the United States. On the other hand, global competition between China and the United States is inevitable. No one can guarantee whether the United States will exert the same extreme pressure on enterprises like Krypton as it did on Huawei in the past. In this case, let alone state-owned enterprises listed in the US stock market have chosen to review the listing of Hong Kong stocks/China mainland’s own securities market, and reserve a financing channel for themselves. Even private car companies like Wei Xiaoli have already completed the secondary listing in Hong Kong stocks. Therefore, listing in the US stock market is definitely not the end of extreme krypton. Finding more stable financing channels for yourself may be the strategy that needs to be considered in the next step.

In the past two years, many companies under Geely Group have completed listing. From Volvo cars and polar star cars to Yikatong and Krypton, there may be Lotus cars, Cao Cao trips and long-distance cars soon. Promoting the listing of its enterprises is a shortcut to reduce its capital contribution burden. However, in the current environment, both valuation and potential political risks need to be weighed by Geely Group. The road ahead is not easy. In 2019, the total import and export value of Jiangxi’s foreign trade was 351.19 billion yuan, an increase of 11.1% over 2018. Among them, exports reached 249.64 billion yuan, up by 12.3%; Imports reached 101.55 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2%. In the first quarter of 2019, the import and export value was 74.47 billion yuan, 83.44 billion yuan in the second quarter, 93.36 billion yuan in the third quarter and 99.93 billion yuan in the fourth quarter, all of which increased by more than 7% from the previous quarter.

Second, the trading partners are more diversified, and the import and export of major markets except the United States have maintained growth. In 2019, Jiangxi had trade with 233 countries and regions, and ASEAN remained the largest trading partner. Jiangxi imported and exported 58.9 billion yuan to ASEAN, an increase of 19.4%; The European Union surpassed the United States to become Jiangxi’s second largest trading partner, and Jiangxi imported and exported 46.65 billion yuan to the European Union, an increase of 26.7%. Imports and exports to the United States reached 37.29 billion yuan, down 3.6%. Imports and exports to Japan and South Korea were 24.84 billion yuan and 24.63 billion yuan respectively, up by 10.1% and 28.9% respectively. In addition, Jiangxi’s import and export to countries along the "Belt and Road" reached 102.81 billion yuan, up 14.2%, 3.1 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate.

Third, the pulling effect of private enterprises is more obvious. Private enterprises account for nearly 70% of imports and exports, and the exports of production enterprises maintain double-digit growth. In 2019, the import and export of private enterprises was 244.79 billion yuan, up 18.4%, accounting for 69.7% of Jiangxi’s total foreign trade, up 4.3 percentage points from 2018. Among them, the export was 187.12 billion yuan, up by 13.7%; Imports reached 57.67 billion yuan, an increase of 36.4%. The import and export of foreign-invested enterprises was 92.61 billion yuan, accounting for 26.4%. The import and export of state-owned enterprises was 13.19 billion yuan, accounting for 3.8%. In the same period, the export of production enterprises was 130.3 billion yuan, an increase of 18.5%, and the growth rate continued to be ahead of the overall export, accounting for 52.2% of the province’s exports from 49.5% in 2018.

Fourth, the mode of trade is more optimized, with the proportion of general trade exceeding 70%, and the growth rate of processing trade ranks second in the country. In 2019, the import and export of general trade in Jiangxi was 258.5 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1%, accounting for 73.6% of the province’s total foreign trade. In the same period, the import and export of processing trade was 89.01 billion yuan, an increase of 50.4%, ranking second in the country, accounting for 25.3% of the province’s total foreign trade, an increase of 6.6 percentage points over 2018.

Fifth, the commodity structure is more reasonable, and the import and export of mechanical and electrical products are growing rapidly, and the proportion is more than half for the first time. In 2019, Jiangxi exported 126.44 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 36.4%, accounting for 50.6% of the province’s total export value in the same period, an increase of 8.9 percentage points over 2018, of which 14.9 billion yuan of mobile phones were exported, an increase of 1.5 times; Solar cells reached 11.32 billion yuan, an increase of 38.7%. In the same period, the export of new energy products was 14.02 billion yuan, an increase of 45.1%. On the import side, the import of integrated circuits has increased substantially, and the import of resource products is diversified. In 2019, Jiangxi imported 54.04 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, up 34.3%, accounting for 53.2% of the province’s total import value in the same period, up 10.4 percentage points from 2018. Among them, the integrated circuit was 31.77 billion yuan, an increase of 76.4%. In the same period, the import of resource products showed a diversified trend. The import of raw materials such as iron ore and copper ore for industries with high pollution and high energy consumption decreased by 49% and 16% respectively, while the import of raw materials for new energy industries increased, such as the import of cobalt products increased by 84.6% and the import of petroleum coke for lithium battery electrodes increased by 2.8 times.

Sixth, regional development is more coordinated, and the leading effect of Nanchang’s foreign trade is obvious. In 2019, Nanchang’s import and export reached 106.18 billion yuan, an increase of 34.8%, ranking first in all provinces and cities in terms of scale and growth rate, accounting for 30.2% of the province. Ji ‘an imported and exported 49.08 billion yuan, and Ganzhou imported and exported 39.94 billion yuan, ranking second and third respectively in the province, with year-on-year growth of 27.8% and 14% respectively. In addition, the import and export of Yichun, Fuzhou and Pingxiang increased by 7.6%, 7.9% and 4.4% respectively.
