Xinhua News Agency, Kabul, January 27th (Reporter Zou Delu) Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Almugahed said on the 27th that Taliban forces shot down a plane belonging to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that day, and a large number of American soldiers died, including senior CIA officials.

On the same day, Almugahed issued a statement through social media, saying that the plane was shot down by local Taliban forces in the Dehyake area of Ghazni province in southeastern Afghanistan that afternoon, and the plane was being monitored and reconnoitered in Ghazni province before being shot down.

At present, the Afghan security forces have been assembled and headed for the crash site.

According to Afghan media reports, some experts have analyzed that the crashed plane is most likely the E-11a aircraft of the 430th Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Squadron of the US Air Force. E-11a is a military modification of Bombardier Global 6000 civil aircraft, which is used as an air communication relay platform by the US military.

According to live videos posted on social media by journalists associated with the Taliban, many features of the crashed plane are consistent with those of the US E-11a aircraft.

Earlier, Afghan media reported that a passenger plane belonging to Afghan Ariane Airlines crashed in Ghazni province. However, Afghan Ariane Airlines denied that the crashed plane belonged to the company.

Ghazni province, about 150 kilometers from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, is the main land hub connecting Kabul and the southern region. The Afghan Taliban are active in the province. The Dehyake area in Ghazni province has long been controlled by the Taliban.
